Collection: Zen

Simple black and white works inspired by and used for Zen practice.

Long before discovering Zen, I was practicing it by painting. As early as 2022, I created simple brush stroke paintings as a form of meditation.

Then in 2024 I travelled to Japan and visited the Zen Buddhist temples. There I saw paintings in large black brush strokes created by meditating monks  - similar to some pieces I had created on my own. The experience moved me and inspired me to expand my Zen painting into a series, similar in style to the paintings I witnessed at the temples.

This is an ongoing series. I use these paintings as sketches to clear the mind, and embrace simplicity and presence. They bring peace and a reminder to live intentionally in the moment.
