This piece is about the hedonic treadmill, the insatiable desire to achieve the next goal. When one goal is achieved, we immediately move onto the next. An important part of learning to enjoy life is to recognize this and try to put an end to the cycle, enjoying the journey instead of the destination. This piece is a reminder to do that.
I chose a long canvas to resemble the shape of a treadmill, and a variety of bright colors to evoke dopamine hits from pursuing and achieving goals. These happy moments are represented as a part of the treadmill path, rather than an endpoint.

Hidden Gems
As a former engineer, I often embed symbols, equations, or fragments of thought within the work—details that make each painting personal, one-of-a-kind, and worth a second look. Beneath the surface, my work explores the big questions: how to live a life with meaning and intention.
